Sara, as the mother of 2 adopted children and one biological child, I’m so thrilled to hear that you’re considering adoption. There are lots and lots of kids out there who yearn for a parent as much as potential parents yearn for a child. And to Anna’s comment below, becoming pregnant with a donated embryo is not remotely akin to adoption. An embryo isn’t actively living in the world without any permanent parent to provide them with guidance, safety, and love.

I’m 62 and my daughter is about to graduate from a top college, and has a 6 figure job lines up. She is an amazing person. I am so thankful for her donor and have always felt incredibly fortunate. Has it always been easy, no. But so rewarding. Helps to be financially secure and have a supportive group of people. Sleep away summer camp was one of my best investments, friendships, community, independence, new skills, sense of belonging. She went from 8-22, camper to counselor. Her happy place.

I became a mom last year September 10th to a baby girl I’m 33 years old, me and my daughters father was together for 7 years we broke up when my daughter was 11months old, my daughters father is still around for the sake of our daughter but since we separated it’s been really hard being a single mom I don’t wanna out to much of my personal business out there but I been through hell and back with my daughters fathers so I just had decided we are better off not being together just being parents. At times I have my moments of feeling like damn this is now my life of being a single mom struggling I know you have to crawl before you walk and that it’s only temporary things are gonna get better but it’s so hard I just never wanted my life for my daughter to be like this let alone my self. the only thing that keeps me going is my daughter she’s the only one that keeps me strong when my world is falling apart. i just need advice on the next steps to take or what to do to help me get thru being a single mom. she’s my first child so I’m learning all about mother hood

Sort of my sentiments. I want to get to be sole decision maker for everything because I will feel like I wanted the fleeting satisfaction of compromise and peace over my child’s welfare.
