Whenever you write about Cornwall, it makes me think of Rosamunde Pilcher novels, but this year in particular I have to comment! The combination of Cornwall and the Italian rented villas is SO perfect for her book The Shell Seekers. It is an absolutely gorgeous story, as is Coming Home.

@Erin, it is, such a hidden gem! I grew up in the Lincolnshire Wolds, near a village called Baumber (about twenty miles from Lincoln) As an adult, and an actor/puppeteer, it would be impossible for me to live there now (no work!) but my parents and my sister and her family are still there so we go back a lot. I miss the big open skies and the north sea!
